Super Nintendo World is SUPER AMAZING

Recently my family and I had the opportunity to spend some time at Universal Studios Hollywood. Yes, we enjoyed the minions, The Simpsons, Transformers, and Jurassic World, but the real “invincible star” of this park is none other than the little plumber in the red and blue overalls. Mario and his friends rule in Super Nintendo World.

The location is small, and a little challenging to get to, but well worth the time and effort. Entering the land through a warp pipe, you will find yourself immersed in a Nintendo gamer’s dream. Purchasing a power up band allows you to keep track of all the coins you earn while punching "?" blocks, tending to the ever-present piranha plant, rolling Goombas, and taking on Koopa-Troopa.

After completing at least three of the designated games, you can face Bowser, Jr. in an epic onscreen battle. Mario Kart-Bowser’s Challenge is the only ride, but is well worth the very long wait you may be up against. The line takes you through different lands and ultimately Bowser’s Castle. This is one of the best rides I have ever been on, and rivals any other of its kind. Navigating your kart through the various tracks just makes this Mario Kart fan smile.

So, are you ready to take that trip? Let’s-a-go!

DREAM TRIP PLANNER TIPS:

  • On busy days at USH, you have to enter a virtual line for entry into Super Nintendo World. You can check that status through the app once you are in the park.

  • Purchase an early access pass to Super Nintendo World that allows you entry into the area an hour before the park opens to everyone else. A great way to ride Bowser's Challenge.

  • A Universal Studios Hollywood express pass DOES NOT work on Bowser's Challenge - so no line skipping here!
